New fan problem

Has anyone had a problem with a recently purchased aluminum fan? I installed a new fan today purchased from a well known supplier. The pulley has a severe wobble. I tried a good steel fan just to be sure it was not the pump shaft and this fan is true. I know that there have been problems with some of these fans in the past.
 
You are describing a problem that others have had with the aluminum fans. I suggest you return the fan and try again for a better example. Gar Williams

I would guess the key slot in the fan is not deep enough. You could file the key down some. But the best bet would be to send it back.
You could try the fan with out the key to see if it still has a wobble.
 
Installed a new one purchased from Braton's last week and it ran out straight and true.

The problem has been corrected months ago. It is very possible that it is from old stock that someone had. Contact your vendor or Snyders and get a replacement.

I replaced my org. steel fan with a alum. fan from Mike,s, no wobble, and a lot less vib. then the org..... If installed right, sounds like you got a bad fan.
 
Mine works fine after filing the castle nut bottom to see the cotter pin hole in the shaft.
 
I talked to the supplier today and they said no problem and are sending me another fan. They are going to check it to be sure there are no problems with it. This is the kind of response I expected from this supplier. Thanks guys for your help !
