Hi everyone, well yesterday i picked up my new engine from Rich Fallucca at Antique Engine Rebuilders. I had the Stipe 340 cam and a Burlington Crank installed with oversize intakes, High compression head, lightened flywheel and V8 clutch.,, all looks great and many has asked about the diamond block, Here are some interesting photos i took of some markings, cant seem to make some out and was wondering if anyone had any insight on what they were.......

While I will leave the casting ID to others, please allow me to be one of the first to offer congrats on your "new" engine. My hope is that it will give you many miles of happiness and great service!! Many smiles per mile!! :D

Tell us more about the engine. I notice bolts on the rod caps. Are those new rods with insert bearings? Are the pistons chevy? they look like modern pistons. What other changes were made?

YES it is NEW Rods w/Inserts, yes on the pistons,....oversize intakes, v8 clutch, lightened and balanced flywheel, Snyder 5.5 head. We started from a Diamond Block that was empty and went from scratch and built from there, pistons are 80 over, plan on installing next week and will give you more info,, More to buy,....new aries muffler next!

Very nice. How does it feel to have had money??

Paul. I wish i knew that answer.....hahahahah LOL!!!! sure nothing left hahahaahh,.:o

Great looking engine, however if it were mine I would install an aluminum timing gear, assuming the crank gear is new. They are quiet and won't lose teeth like the fiber ones. Changing a timing gear alongside the road is not fun!

Does anyone know what the copper device with bolts or screws at the end of the camshaft is used for?

I think you are correct Joe. I guess what I thought was the threaded end of a bolt (edited: at the 12 o'clock position) might be some grease.

Your new engine looks GREAT. I noticed the clutch pressure plate has the adjustable fingures and the fly weights. I am going to have Rich rebuild my enging this summer. Enjoy your new engine! Phil
