New Brake Drag

Howdy. I installed new brake shoes and hardware etc on my parent's 29 Model A, front and rear. Question is, they are a little draggy despite the fact I'm sure that both front and rear adjustments are backed right off. What is acceptable and will they free up with a few short drives?

The brake centering tool sold by Model A vendors may indicate that:

A. They are dragging on one or both ends of the brake linings& if so, this problem can be corrected with a blacksmith's file or a sanding block by removing a little of the brake lining at the ends; and/or,

B. That the brake shoes are not centered, & if so may be corrected by bending, (tweaking), the ends of the brake tracks up or down with an adjustable crescent wrench.

Dog:cool: hear,
Well, you shuld see Ol' Bill "drag" fur about an hour, after he gits up! After that, he's in "free wheeling":D----Hope this helps.
