Hey Rock,
Have you heard what they're doing to the Boy Scouts?
( ... bet he'll really be pissed.)
A couple of you guys don't have a clue what the H.A.M.B. is about. It is NOT about " bellybutton" Chevy small blocks, nor is it about cheesy, cheap-***, fake mag wheels. Electric fans need not apply, either. DD
Funny.. that is exactly how I see the hamb.. how to build anything goes, non-stock cars..

And then you guys wonder why younger people don't get involved.
You grumpy, inflexable, curmudgeons run them all off.
I get that it's the "Ford barn" and you all have "OEM" tattooed on your chest over your hearts, but good god, you didn't even let the guy unpack his project and get past three, THREE POSTS, before you unzipped and pissed ALL OVER HIS CHERRIOS.
Why is the activity suffering a lack of young blood? Look in the mirror and make sure it's not you.

JSeeryNot sure everyone would agree with your definition and use of the term Hot Rod. To me and I'm sure at least a few others, the term Hot Rod is something completely different from a Street Rod.
FYI, You just described a classic "street rod" NOT the typical hot rod. Just sayn.JSeery
I'm not sure I could tell you the difference.....with that said (and possibly my own ignorance) I would lump them both together as MY Definition of "Hot Rod" (as referred to growing up) is boxed frame, mustang II front end, 350 Chevy, Turbo 400 trans, Ford 9" out back, tilt steering column, electric windows purple metal flake paint job etc etc etc!!!! That's my definition. Right or wrong I'm not sure!!!! And sorry IF i confused the two!!!
Ok hoop, my high horse has been put to pasture!!! Promise!!! Besides I now have girls to go camping with so who needs the Ford Barn!!! Or high horses for that matter!!!"And then you guys wonder why younger people don't get involved.

Yep. That's what I've always said about the Boy Scouts. You wonder why more girls never got involved in camping/scouting.
I know they have the Girl Scouts, but girls should be camping with the boys.
I felt that way for a long time when I was a kid.
It was a huge mistake to make the Boy Scouts exclusively for boys. All those hot, dusty hikes then sleeping in leaky old pup tents. Building campfires and eating warmed up baked beans. Having farting contests. You call that fun?
That'll change. Delivery pizza to backyard camp outs. Merit badges for best makeup. Mothers hovering over their darlings.
"But good God," who would ever want to preserve old-fashioned scouting ... unless they were a grumpy, inflexible, curmudgeon?
