I am going to the Hershey show for the first time, I have gone to Carlisle for years and got to know the back roads and how to get in without the heavy traffic. Can someone give me a good route to take from rt 81 and where is a good parking lot to park close. I am come in from NY.

Hope this helps - From I-81 get off at Hershey exit and follow sr39 south right into Hershey Park / Giant Center -about 7 or 8 miles - site of the swap meet - you will see plenty of signs and traffic control directing you to parking areas
($ 10/day).

Hershey AACA Web Site:

There are individual field/vender maps on this web site that you can print out and they sell vender directories as you enter the fields.

This is a good route that brings you past the AACA Museum and out right in front of the Giant building. You will want to turn right and drive a mile or so to the main parking area, again on your right.

Going home, you can only turn right out of the parking lot. Do that, go to the next traffic light which is pretty close, turn right,go up the hill turn around and come back. Then you have a quick way to turn left, then get in the turn lane for 39-usually there are two lanes for turning left, but be careful.

Now that I have given you my secret tips, please don't park in my space way up close to the pedestrian crossing.:)

There isn't heavy traffic that I have encountered arriving their usuallu around 7 AM, most all days, but being dropped off.
Waiting at parking lot line is something else.

Personally we like to take the Grantville exit off I81, this is just before the one mentioned above. Somehow we enjoy driving by all the Red and Chocolate field spaces before turning left at the light to enter the Chocolate Field. Tough to brake habits that we started in 1969 when there was only the Blue Field, today it is under Hershey Park's roller coasters.
