Hello i have a NORS drivers side aluminum (for domed pistons) head stamped 68-6050. I need a passenger side aluminum (for domed pistons) head stamped 48- or 68-6049-?. I have a 1936 Ford LB in machine shop getting bore job ect and i only have the one head. thank you.

a 48 head is for a '35 with flat top pistons. a 68 head is for a '36 with domed pistons.
Best to use domed pistons and '36 head son either '35 or '36.
You can NOT use a #48 head on an engine with domed pistons. The dome will hit the head.
If your machinest ordered flat tops then you better use a pair of 48- heads. Otherwise the compression will be very low.

yes i am using domed pistons so you are correct i need a pass side head for domed pistons...i cant seem to locate one...according to the book 'the early ford v8 as henry built it' the domed heads started experimentally in 1935....so perhaps i could find one with 48- or 68-

Actually a 40- head is for the flat tops, the 48- is for the domed pistons. The 68- was a replacement head.

I may have one from my 36. I'm going with an 8Ba. The block is here. It has domed pistons. The heads are at my mother's house. Haven't seen them in years. I'll go over Friday and see if they are what you need.
