Hey there. I cant make up my mind if I want to have my headlight buckets, bumpers, and radiator fan shround plated or fork the money for reproductions...... All of the above are expensive but Im not sure how much cheaper it would be to have them fixed and plated. I dont even know any plating companies other than Advanced plating in Nashville. I heard that they cost a fortune. The peices do need to to have dents removed and scratches fixed...... I have no idea. The less money I spend on my car the happier my wife is with me.. any opinions, advice, or knowledge will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Drew, That's opening a big can of worms. I would guess a majority on FB would say restore what you have. You would also probably get numerous responses more along the line of doing whatever(in the end) makes you happy.
In general, the repro parts are not as 'good', and often cause problems with fitting.
Do you belong to a local 'A' club, or have a buddy-or-two that have Model A knowledge? The people I've ran into within the hobby are very generous with their time and experiences. Good luck!

Except for the fan shround(?) and bumpers everything else on your list is stainless steel and should just need a good polishing. I am guess that you are talking about the 1930 in your profile.

Thank you Bruce. I agree with keeping what i have but i am not for sure what to do. I will have to think about it and do what makes me happiest. Also I dont have anyone i can talk to yet. I have met just a handful of folks with a models here. Thank you sir for your help. redmodelt, I meant the radiator shroud not the fan shroud... I was looking at a fan shroud earlier before i posted. My bad. Yes these parts are for the 1930 in my profile. I am learning more and more about these things and am loving every second of it. Thank you for your reply

Ok, the radiator shell is stainless steel also with the top insert painted. As far as the plating on the bumper I believe the front and edges were polished and the back was more ruff. Good luck with your project. Remember there are no dumb questions.
