need Oil pump help

OK here it is I am doing a 32 ford 4 cyl with a Riley O H V here is my question I got the kit to build the oil pump you use the A pump with some mod the catalog says to turn down the shaft, but it does not say where to or how much to turn that shaft? anyone got the info I need? there was a tech article in secrets of speed mag years ago with all the oil pump tricks. google it and/or ask here on the model A forum
