Need keys made for door lock...

Ford Barners,

I have a '39 Ford Fordor that I do not have the door lock keys to. The lock is serviceable.

A couple questions:

1) There is a 5 character code on the lock assembly (format: AB 123). Is this the key code?

2) Does anyone know anyone who can cut keys for the lock if I have the key code?

3) If that isn't the key code, can keys be made from the lock?

Anything will help, Thanks.

Dan

Yes, that is a key code. J J and J locksmith in Fredricksburg, Tx has cut many keys for me for my 32's. He usually has the blanks. 830 997 8614

Thanks for the responses...I'd copy the ignition key if I had one. I bought the car from an estate auction. The auction company could not find the keys and the ignition lock was drilled out...ouch, it was an original. At least the door was unlocked and they didn't destroy that one. I'll have to get a replacement ignition lock and key.

If anyone has other suggestions as to key makers, I'll take those too. Thanks a bunch...

contact Leon Rowell, Montezuma, Iowa 641 623 1957. He can fix you up with a new lock and key coded as original.

I just took mine into the local locksmith and he made the keys. No big deal for them. That's what they do.
