Need hood id

New to the forum. I recently purchased several items from an old speed shop that was closed back in the 1960's. The included pics are a louvered hood that was marked as 42 - 47. It appears to me to be either 1940 or 41, but would appreciate confirmation from the members here. Thanks

I believe that hood belongs to a 1941 Truck, such as a 1 ton Truck as well as other 1941 "big trucks".

I was pretty certain that was the case, but didn't know if it was pickup or big truck. Thanks for your input.

Definitely a '41 big truck. It will work on a '40 big truck but the front waterfall and the hood side whiskers are different. Also the '40 had V8 embossed in the hood near the front but the '41's didn't.

Hood in question is correct for the 1941 Ford Trucks.
Louvres on top are not original.

While the Hoods will interchange, they are different.
Note that the 1940 models have V8 pressed on each side, plus other differences.
They also have a narrow centre strip.
