I need to install my Hurst Shifter to the trans and I would like to see if anyone has the same trans I am using and which shifter did you use for this conversion. I have pictures of my Hurst but I may have to cut and make my own brackets. If you have something that may look like what I am doing if you could post some pictures so I have some ideas. I have a 1952 Mercury 3 speed I am told.

Thanks
Frenchy

Looks to me as though you're going to face clearance issues due to the cross member being so close to the rear of the transmission...

Thank You for the feedback that is the area I was concern with so I am trying to see what needs to be done. Making my own bracket to fit the linkage possibly.

Right shifter for the trans. Wrong shifter for the style of frame and cross member.
That's why most people go with a Ford top loader style. You are using one of the old Hurst style universal shifters it looks like. They were designed to use on side shft trans to convert them into 3 on the floor style. They are still made(By other company's) but are not designed to be used in this type of frame as they mount right where the cross member is.
Plus the other issue is location. Being on the side of the trans it may end up hitting your leg.
I tried for a long time to fit one to my 41 Ford frame and original trans. Never came up with a good solution so I went with the 3 on the tree.
I don't think it will work for you.
Torchie.

I will have to cut the center brace 6 inches or so from each ends and box them as well and brace the bottom all the way across than I will be able to install the shifter.

I am not sure what point you are in the build, but A Ford 303 full syncro trans with both bellhousing bolt patterns makes a good trans. If you install a Jeep T150 top shift, it looks at though Henry did it himself and there is no crosssmember interference. I did it on my '32 and the shifter is within 1" of where the original came through the floor.
