Need Dimension Info on 1930 CCPU

A-Man

Senior Member
I presently do not have access to my 1930 Model A Closed Cab Pickup, nor to my reference material. I will be needing to haul the cab unit and the bed unit from my media blasting man, about 50 miles. I took it down in two different trips. However, opportunity may allow me to pickup and haul both units back home now in one trip.
I need to determine if the "bare" cab unit and the "bare" bed unit will both fit in a standard size pickup. I realize I would probably have to have the tail gate down in order to haul them.
So, I am needing information on the maximum width and length of the pickup cab unit. I also need the maximum width and length of the pickup bed unit. With this information, I hope to calculate the possiblity of putting both on the units on one pickup having an 8' bed (about 10' with tail gate down).
Thanks in advance for the information.

I can measure mine tomorrow night, but if you think outside the box (pun intended) you can do it. Just stand the bed upright and tie it in well after wraping it in moving pads to protect the paint. Then there will be plenty of room for the cab, but the cab may have to sit sideways. The Model A bed standing upright would be back against your modern pickup cab. I had a small homemade trailer but you can see the the Model A bed fits nice inside the modern pickup bed, and I have a 4 door F150 with a really short bed.

Thanks, Doug. If you would be able to measure yours, I would greatly appreciate it. I may have to use your "think outside the box" suggestion if all else fails.

OK here you go- For the bed:
At the widest point (top rail to top rail) it is 47.5 inches
It is 58 inches long (which includes the tailgate hinges/top latches
It is 20.25 inches tall (from the top rail to the bottom of the side subrail)

The cab is 52 inches deep (from the back of the cab to the front of the firewall)
The rear of the cab is the widest part and it measures 56 inches.

Good luck and let me know how you make out..
PS, my 1930 closed cab pickup

I like Doug's trailer to separate the two (cab and Bed) Too easy to damage either one with my luck. Probably make loading and unloading easier. How far do you have to travel? Your only going to do this once. Bob
