Hello All
I have a 8BA Flathead and just bought a 1993 WC S10 T5 transmission, what is the correct adapter I need to mate these two together. It's got a Ford F case/ late Chevy. Will also need clutch and all that makes this happen. Hopefully some of you have done this before and can help me out. Thank you
Dave

I just did all that last year to my 49 F1.....I got everything I needed from Cornhuskers Hot Rod......give them a call, 402-749-1932

I've looked at their website and they state they have adapters for pre 92 T5's. Mines a 93 T5 (216), is there a difference? Speedway didn't have a kit for me so I'm concerned if there's one for a post 93

I got my adapter from cornhuskers, T5 was a '95, not sure if there are differences or not but what I got worked.

I should have mentioned, do a search on T5 this site......there is a lot of information on T5 conversion.......very common

What is the bolt pattern? There is what is referred to as a Chevy pattern and a Ford pattern. Some of the later Chevys switched to the Ford pattern. Most of the adapters out there are Chevy pattern, but I thought Cornhuskers also sold the Ford pattern (it may not be on the online site).

Here's a picture of it right after painting it, it's the Ford pattern. I'll send a email or call Cornhuskers, I also sent Krylon32 a PM.

There was a company that made an adapter that bolted to the stock Bell Housing and used all stock parts except for the disk. sold for $160 bucks. I made one for Richards 53 Ford. Can't remember the name.

Ron, Offenhauser made adapters that used the original shaft mounted throw out arm. I'm using one, but I'm not real impressed with it. The shaft barely rides in the far bearing. They should of extended the casting about an inch inward.

Did you ever check with Cornhuskers? I am sure what your asking now, are you looking for another alternative? You can use stock parts and make your own adapter plate (that's what I have done). If that is what you are looking for I can provide the information, but it is not any cheaper and it is a far amount of work. You can also you a later model steel bellhousing and re-drill some of the holes.

I didn't realize Cornhuskers is Krylon32, but yes I sent him a PM. I don't have anything for this: flywheel, clutch, T-bearing etc.. so I have to buy it all. I'll give him some time to respond.

He should be able to provide you with the information you need. Unless you really enjoy making your own parts or have a lot of the stock parts available, I think you are money ahead to purchase the adapter parts.

Same here! I welded the holes up and turned it around, then drilled new holes. You would think they could get it right! Maybe they have different shafts? Pete
