I am looking for the measurment in my picture. I am looking for someone with an original Ford cowl panel and measure across the top from the corner at the cowl post staight across to corner of the body line where the hood meets the panel. I have some aftermarket panels and I am wonering if the are off being a little short. I get a measurment of 12.5 inches. any input on after market panel would be great also weather good or bad.

Thank you Tinker, I test fitted the new panels and they are around 1/4 short so I guess I won't use these. Any idea where I can get a set of nice panels or aftermarket ones that fit right.

My '29 is same as Tinker's, 12-3/4". Compare this length on your panels with your gas tank--they should be a good match.

We're having good weather here. :-)

No opinion on replacement panels, though.

Here is my problem, I put on the panel and the front body line does not match to the gastank it is about 1/4 inch short. I can line them up by pushing the gastank back but them the bolt holes for the tank don't line up with the dash bar.

By the way the picture I used is not of my car I was out in the garage and just used someone elses for the reference

I think if I were you, I would get another cowl panel. If you don't want to do that, you could weld some spacers to the door post side to make up for the 1/4". It wouldn't be my choice, but it would probably work OK. Or you could carefully cut off the door post flange on the cowl panel and weld in a 1/4" wide strip of 16 gauge metal to widen the cowl. It wouldn't be easy, but it would probably work.
