need a good wiring diagram

Hi folks,

I'm new to this forum and new to the Model A world. Have a 31 that I am trying to get running. It was rebuilt a couple of owners back but sat for a long time. Now I'm trying to get it running and start restoring it. Step one is getting it running.

My problem at the moment is getting spark to the plugs. I have a new coil to put in but can't figure out which side is negative and which is positive for the wiring. Is the red wire coming off the juntion box carrying neg or pos? I think that if I can figure that one out, the rest should be easier to trace.

Anyone have a decent wiring diagram showing which wires carry neg and pos? I found a decent wiring diagram at the below link but it doesn't give me enough info to tell for sure whether the red juntion box wire is + or -.

Thanks for any help,
Frank

The terminal on the junction box is negative, if you follow the yellow wire back to the starter it connects to the main negative cable from the battery. You probably already know this but Model A's are positive ground. So the Black wire would connect to the -Negative terminal on the coil and the Red would go to +Positive.

Hope that helps

That's perfect. Thanks

I think that is exactly what I needed to know. Thanks again.

This forum looks like it will be a big help to me getting my Model A up and running again.

Right click on it, save it to your pictures. Then go to your picture software and get it to fit on the page. Make sure your printer is set for landscape and not portrait.
