Yeh, the central gas pedal is a PITA.

And the clutch pedal arm is real tight to the exhaust manifold clamp .

But at least we don't have to reach across for the choke

Wow. How come those guys on the bottom of the world always put everything in backwards and upside down?
:)
But then I guess we DO learn something every day, eh?

Cool Hand, We have had to put things back where they should have been in the first place.:D Your LHD cars are all wrong to us. Maybe you hold your maps up side down.
Now maybe some of you guys will see what I have been saying for years about the differences, non availability of parts and poor design by Ford.
As for the bracket on the chassis, I have it on 2 of my cars but it isn't used. It is not for a brake light switch. There is no provision made to mount one of those - I make my own bracket and mount it to the chassis with a couple of 1/4" bolts but it is illegal to drill the chassis. Don't tell anybody I do that but I figure having a stop light is better than obeying some stupid law.

I drove a wrong hand driver a while ago and didn't like the accelerator waaay out there on the right nor the awkward position of the starter button. Having the accelerator in the middle was common in the 20's and helps with a double de-clutch change down while using the brake. It's easier to turn your foot that way so that you press the accelerator with your heel while the ball of your foot is on the clutch. It is the original "heel and toe" action.

Not sure what Syncro is referring to, but the plate bolted to the top of the right side rail at the bottom of the photo is the brake light switch. Bent down as they usually get hit. There should be a link to the pedal.

I was talking about the bracket with two holes in it on the outside of the chassis. On closer inspection, I think I can see the bent thing you are talking about. I don't think it is original though.
