mystery north east electric speedometer

I found a supposedly NOS round face North East Electric speedometer supposedly for a late '30-31 Model A, but with several differences.
The back is almost identical except the cable connection has male threads, for a keyed cable not square and it reads 'North East Electric...', not 'North East Appl. Co..."
The case is the same diameter as the model A unit, but the mount tabs are offset at approx. 7pm and 1pm instead of 3 & 9pm, and recessed about 1.5" from the front face. Also there's no chrome faceplate and the plate is on the inside, not pinned under the chrome face. I think it would fit right into the Model A case except the pot metal seems to have swelled. There's also lots of cracking and flaking of the pot metal frame.
The speed indicator and odometer are in the same position as the Model A's.
When disassembled the inside appears identical, with very minor differences. Squarer edges, etc, but dials and odometer wheels look like exact duplicates.
I haven't taken the speed dial off yet to see what it looks like underneath but I plan on it when I get home. I want to try replacing my faded dials with this new unit's.
Anyone have any idea what this speedometer might actually be for? I have found photos of more than 30 North East Elec. speedometers but not this style. None of the links I've found on Ford Barn help.
I'll post some photos soon.

Cheers!
Bob East

Hi I just seen your listing. That speedo came from a 30-31 model aa truck. I rebuild speedo and have use the inside parts on the other N/E speedo. Hope this helps, papanick
