Mystery Klaxon

Found this Klaxon on the Model T Swap meet a couple of weekends ago. It's quite a bit larger than a Model A Klaxon, the bolts are spaced much wider, and has a different mounting bracket. Can't really read much of the label. I wonder, what might have been the original application of this horn?

I have had a few of these I think they are off of trucks often can be picked up quite cheaply.
Some are 6 volt and some are 12 volt most of them are made by Sparton with the same motor as the Model A so good for parts to fit the A horn
.The 12volt motors are good for people runnng 12 volts on their A's.The 12 volt motors are slightly longer than the Model A 6 volt so you have to use the 12volt motor cover which fits right on the A horn.

Good possibility it is the same horn. Bought it in a box of parts at an auction. The guy had a thriving repair shop in a very rural area and had been turning wrenches since the 40's. Think I bought a pickup and load and 1/2 of parts that day for $85. At one point there were 3 rings. Auction was a grueling 10 hrs. so it was a long day and had to make another trip back the next morning to get the rest of the stuff. Rod

It's a Sparton horn, not a Klaxon. I have no clue why I typed Klaxon. It was a 6-volt horn, and has been converted to 12 volt. It's lound, and emits the typical Ahooga sound.

Model A's did not have Klaxon horns.

Your horn is a Sparton truck horn. Not pickup, but large trucks such as F7 and F8. They are very loud. Makes people jump and hollow and turn around and laught about it.

These motor assembly is about a 1/4" longer than the model a. They are from 1925 and up until later 1932. They all are 6 volts.

Hopes this hekps.

Thanks, Neil,
seems to be 100% on the money.
You surely are The Horn Man!

Maybe I should make YouTube video of people jump out of the way when I hit the horn button?
