Can anyone help me correctly identify this mystery Ford Motor Company Hubcap that I have in my collection? I believe that it is a genuine Ford Hubcap, as the retaining clips are definitely not aftermarket style, but I have never seen another one & can't find any References to it in any book?
It is a 14" Full Wheel Cover, similar in Design to the much more elaborate and more expensive 15" 72-76 Ford Thunderbird Full Wheel Cover.
In Australia, Ford Australia used these imported Thunderbird Hubcaps, but substituted the Plastic Center with one showing an "L" for LTD for their local Australian Ford LTD. For comparison, I have pictured both Hubcaps together.
I can't see a Hubcap like this one pictured or listed in any Reference books, it is a total mystery. From the styling, I believe that it is from the early to mid seventies?
Can anyone help me identify this smaller 14" Hubcap?

It looks similar to the ones from the early and mid 70's Torino. Maverick and Comet had them with the wide brushed area painted the body color on the LDO's for awhile. But those center areas with the raised ribs are different, almost like an aftermarket replacement here.

I think after a couple of hours searching without being able to blow up enough to be definitive but looks like a 1975 possibly 76 also plain jane torino.I recall seeing them but now CRS top green one

Thanks Tony for taking the time to search for the answer, but I don't think that you have nailed it? This picture is of a 72-76 Ford Torino, which is probably like the one that you only had a small picture of. It does have similarities, but is different than the one that I am trying to identity. Some of these Hubcaps were painted around the outside, like my unidentified one, while others were unpainted like the one in this picture. I have searched out the various Hubcaps that www.hubcaps.com have listed on their extensive Web Site, but have been unable to find anything like the Hubcap that I am trying to identify. So, it is back to the Drawing Board. Anyone else with suggestions?

Regarding this Mystery Ford Hubcap, a Reader has suggested that it of a 1975 Ford LTD sold in Mexico.
Check out these photos from the Mexican Sales Brochure, and it does appear similar.
My only question is that the USA 1975 Ford LTD Wheels were 15" while my hubcap is 14".
Did the Mexican 1975 Ford LTD come with 14" wheels?
