Mystery Gear

Hello,

My dad found a gear under the '30 Tudor yesterday. He had been running it on the jack stands in anticipation of winter finally ending. No further investigation on where it came from has been done yet. Its 3" in diameter and 0.5" thick. Any ideas what it is or where to start looking for where it came from?

How big is it?
I would suspect that some prankster threw it under there to confuse your Dad.

It is roughly 3" in diameter and 0.5" thick. The car isn't near me but I can't think of any gears capable of falling off, maybe the starter but that isn't it. I am a complete novice too, so what do I know.

How long has your Dad owned the car?
Maybe it was something the PO had wedged some where on the body/frame and it finnally fell out.

Haven't had the car long, maybe 30 miles driven before storage. We thought it may be a "spare" as well but figure it merits further investigation.

Is there a cotter pin on the backside of what appears to be a pivot pin?
