Just got word from Jim - TrulyVintage - He is in route to pick up my Fordor, I am starting to get really excited. Drop off is tenatively set for the 25th, depending on the weather. My wife doesn't know yet, that it is mine, waiting on some other news before I spring it on her. She knows about the car, and had said if thats what I want I could get it, with the stipulation I get rid of some other projects, which I have been doing. One of those opporunities that comes around only once. Be looking for some pictures Saturday afternoon or Sunday.:):):)

Can't wait!.... can you give us any clues? teaser pic? That's the same way I buy my cars! I find it's easier to get forgiveness, than permission!

Ok, Here is a teaser picture 1928 Fordor, three owners, 13,960 miles, very original save for some smalls, tires, carb, and pop out were replaced by second owner. will be getting the original registration & liscense plate issued sept 28, body shipping tag to Ford, some other paperwork.

Wopnderful news. Good job. I'm sure the boat comes with it. Tell Momma "CLEM approves." That always works for me....

Great news, Steve, glad you got it...I remember following it on Fleabay a while back. Good to know it will be appreciated. Full pics are a must !!!

Good going Steve. Looks good,my partner and I are doing a 29 Murray TS now for someone. Anxious to see more pictures. I hope your wife recovers from the shock.

I had been watching it for a while, it was in Hemmings about 4-5 months ago, then on ebay. I posted a thread about it and figured I wouldnt get it. I decieded to remove my tread shortly after. Started out at 15k, then 12.5k I emailed the owner, he lowered to 10.5k, and I passed. He lowered it to 9.5k and I figured Id never have another chance to own a low mile car for that price, so that was the magic number.

Original paint, Steve?

Yes, Original paint. there is a condition issue on the rear of the top, but i think I may be able to do something with it.

Damn it Tom, you ruined my real surprise of pictures of the body hanging from the rafters...:( ;)

Good job Steve .I belive your wife will aprove.. mine saw the pic and said Why dont you ever buy anything that good?.........Dave

Need not worry, the only things I will do is clean it up, put on the correct zenith and pop out. I can't wait to post some detailed pictures.

Dave, I think our wives must be alike, at least that is what I'm hoping for....

Steve:
Enjoy your Leatherback when you get it. I've had mine ten years now and I spend most of my time trying to get it back to the way it came off the line. Mine's a 10-12-28, still has the multi-part service brake shaft but the multi-disc clutch was changed out 20 years ago. PM me if you have questions. Can't wait to see more pics.
