My new 59a build

After a couple of months I've finished my 59a. Stock crank, Isky cam, and u can see the rest. First time ever building a motor, just put it in the truck last night and did the first heat cycle, runs awesome. Still need to wire everything the correct way, just taped stuff together so I can hear it run.

Looks good.Be prepared for the flames about the engine stand "LOL" I'm cool with it if you have a well designed mounting head as many are Chinese turd knock offs.
But that is another topic.

Looks purposefull should scoot. Feels great don't it.

It is another topic as Ronnie said. I have to say though, the pre 8BA blocks really should be hung off a side (exhaust) mount, not off the bell. The early flathead blocks have broken off these bell mounted stands.
Lots and lots don't break, but some do. I don't take the chance.
Just remember,
"Try not to hang it off the bell end.":D
Martin.

Okay, Now you have been informed of the danger, congratulations on building a beautiful engine. Drive it and enjoy the fact that you built it.

NOT my photos, but just an example of what can happen, rare for it to occur, but it does on occasion. I have a block that this happen, but to a much lesser degree and it was repairable. No FLAME intended and again thousand up on thousand of flatheads have been hung off the bellhousing I would guess with no damage, but I for one do not want to be that one-in-a-thousand that does have an issue!
