My first model A

At 66 years old, I can finally cross this off my bucket list. After a 12 hour road trip to AZ and back, I am now the owner of a 30 tudor. I guess that they built this as a car to tour in.
It has a B engine that has a list of stuff done to it, a B trans with they told me has 39 gears, bigger rad with 13 pound cap, Mitchell overdrive, auxiliary 9 gallon gas tank under the rear of car, 16" wheels, 12 volt alt and hydraulic brakes. I am sure that I will have a lot of questions after I finish looking this car over. Never to old to learn.
Thanks.

Yes, that looks like a very nice touring car. Drive it often and proudly. Welcome to Barn, lots of good advise.

you might try posting your location on your profile so others nearby can come over for dinner and hang out ;)

Your 9 Gallon gas tank reminds me, I discovered,on the remains of a Smiths Compressor, with an absolutely PERFECT gas tank, exactly the same size & shape of my rumble seat bottom cushion, the top of it even slopes up & rounds over!
By padding it, we'd have a second tank, BUT, No Smoking!! The filler cap is in the middle, so if you run out of gas, Ol' Rufus, the BEAN eater, could FART in the tank & get us home.

Thanks for the welcome.
I might have to use the rear tank to keep the front one full, because I was told that with the Stromberg sitting so hi that it will run out of gas at more than a 1/4 of a tank with gravity feed only. I'm sure now that I have taken off my rose colored glasses, I will find other things that I overlooked when buying it. :D

Remember that without added stabilizers (check with your local boat dealers, and research the archives) our modern gas doesn't last very long.

Thanks, I will look into that. I don't care for the neoprene hose that he ran the whole way to the stock tank fitting inside the car. I am going to put 3/8 steel line before I drive it.

Very nice Model A and welcome to the Model A family. Make it a point to enjoy it every day that you can. Join a local club and enjoy the fellowship.

The best to you,

Congratulations! And be careful, I noticed you said first. No reference to being singular. You know they, like humans, sleep better with a companion.

Congrats on your score, it's sounds nice, I have been enjoying my first A for about a year now.. Love it..:D

Welcome to the club and like the trunk. Join a local club and get the Les Andrews books, they will answer most if not all of your questions.

48thames, Nice car!! I just recently joined the club myself (I'm two years younger than you) with a '30 Briggs Town Sedan. I now have six Fords that span 84 years!! Enjoy the ride...
