Well I think I may have figured out how to post a pic. This is Miss Beck, my first "A". I got her about a month ago. put some miles on her and after she would warm up, it knock. Pulled the motor and took it to Joe Bell in Tiffin oh. Said it would be about xmas before I got the engine back. That made my heart skip a beat, so I returned 2 wks later and bought a engine that was completed and running on test stand. I took the new motor home and installed it myself. A big thank you to the person that had pics posted of the pins you screw in the bell housing to line it up, wouldn't have been able to do the job by myself. i was able to take miss beck for a short ride and have decided to install the leakless water pump before putin her back together. And yes, I am having the other engine babbited, valve seats, mill the block and bring her home and put it together. i hope to look around and find something that needs a engine. Thanks for listening.
Chris

Congratulations ! A little Tudor is a great Model A to start out with. I am sure you will enjoy every mile you put on it !
Happy motoring my friend !

Congrats on the new A. Looks like a good solid car. Did the rebuilder say yet what was causing the knock?

I actually tore the engine down myself, found most of the babbit cracked or missing. The #3 rod was causing most of the noise. someone sleeved that cyl, and put a 0.20 in it and the rest were 0.60. the sleeve only went down in the cyl 3/4 the way. The motor was clean inside, cam was looking like new, everything came apart real easy. I am thinking someone didn't have a clue how to build an engine worked on it.

Nice car and congrats on the engine install.. Im sure you will find something to put your other engine in.. Try craigslist or ebay they always have some..

If the engine is the correct "numbers matching", I'd reinstall it in the Tudor. If it has an altered or different number, then use it in anything. I like Tudors and my first A was a Tudor. They're nice because of the enclosed comfort and room for passengers, as well as sturdy construction without too much wood.

I like the white spare tire cover! It makes you stand out to the guy coming up behind you talking on his cell phone. Great safety item.

That is a very, very pretty car. It looks like what I am interested in. Thanks for the pictures and "Good on 'ya Mate!" for the engine install.

Now there's a car you can have some fun with. Happy Touring. Our "A" Club was out yesterday for the Fall tour. 12 cars, we run 100 + miles everyone had a great day. No break downs, beautiful colours A good lunch and a great supper.
A good time had by all. Sorry no pictures as I was driving.
