My Dad's Model A in 1941

I recently found this slide of my Dad's first car in 1941 (when he was 17). Rather suprisingly, I bought the same exact model, without ever seeing this photo. Color slides from before WW2 are a bit rare, but this is still a pretty good photo. Check out all the 'custom' features, like the headlight visors, and the horseshoes on the radiator. The amber running lights are interesting, too.

Thanks much for the post of your Dad's Ford. I rarely see things like a color slide that old of a great Model A.

What's rather spooky is that during all the years I was buying and restoring other types of vehicles, my Dad was always telling me to get an "A". He died in 2010, and I bought my sedan in the fall of 2011. A while back, we were going through the drawers in his dresser, and I noticed this single slide, which i just stuck in my pocket (it was labelled "Chucks first car in 41") to look at later. Not having a slide viewer, I could see that it was probably an "A", but I sent it out to a place that scans your slides, and puts them on a DVD for you. I have to say, I'm not so crazy about the color scheme. As much as I'd like to make mine look like his did, I'll probably paint it differently.
