It's even worse when you've done the work yourself!my biggest fear is spending a ton of money on a model A motor rebuild only to have it last a few months.
I have a will---they will be distributed where I have determined---------I hope

I've been wondering what is a foolproof way to make sure my things go where I want them to go?
My mom had a will, but my oldest brother did everything in his power to make it his will, not my mom's will. 4 years later and things are still in the courts making lawyers richer.![]()

I've already determined that when Dad passes on, my middle sister will have "her" way, and I am just going to let her. My younger sister may have something to say about it, but it won't do any good anyway. Middle sister has the checkbook!
As to my stuff, I doubt that any of my kids want any of it. They are all so not into the same things I am. Another event I will not worry about at this stage in the game.
Be sure to spend some time with a lawyer and have a trust made up. For tax reasons (step up in value) sometimes it is better to inherit something (like a house or valuable car) than have it given to you.Bank accounts and houses can have two names on them and setup so the survivor automatically get it when one passes away no lawyers or wills involved, at the instant of death that person no longer owns it so the will cannot touch it. Can a car title have two names on it?
