My 41 Deluxe

Hey all, I'm somewhat of a new member and I wanted to post up some pics of my 41 for everyone but not 100% sure of the forum etiquette. Are we allowed to post pics of our rides?

Good! Here it is. I couldn't take anymore exterior shots as it's dark outside right now but will add to it later.

This is a work in progress, the "wood" dash makes me want to vomit, in fact maybe I should do so on the dash, might look better, but I can't figure out what color would look nice to accent the interior. Any ideas?

Well, not only do I not like it, it's not done very well at all, and it just doesn't suit the direction I'm going with the car. This is my DAILY DRIVER and having to look at such poor paintwork during my commute makes me sad lol. Luckily when I hit the switch up, push the button, that Flathead fires up like a fine timepiece and I have the coolest ride in the traffic jam!

Nice ride Kaonix, ive had 2 41's so far.Nice road cars.I would be leary of that Chinneeze Chrome air cleaner. There noted for having very restriktive filter elements in them.Try running a few miles with the element removed and see if it runs better. ken ct.

Wow, the digital dash looks cool, so does the '51 steering wheel. I also like the dash and garnish moldings however, I know that photos don't always show the quality of the job. the upholstery also looks good as well, I'd say you've got an excellent driver, enjoy it, and post as many photos as you can.

Nice car, is that digital dash from Intellitronix? I put one in my 48 Desoto along with the gps speedometer, seems to work well.
Gary.

Ditto on the 2-tone - it really looks great with good color choices. Makes the car "jump" at you so you take notice ....

As for the dash, I guess the digital readouts really do not match the "theme" or time period of the car. You might try and locate a stock dash that will fit (perhaps 42-48s will fit?), set it all up the way you would like it and then install it when you are ready. This will lessen the down time of your car since it's your daily ....

Miles of smiles to ya ....

I think the dash and garnish look good, are you sure you didn't vomit on the engine. As long as it's running good, keep the hood closed. Just kidding. Walt

Welcome aboard. And like the others said post as many pictures as you please. I think the woodgrain dash and garnish looks sweet, Id like to have mine done that way. I think it gives it a rich look. I didn't know they had digital dashes in 41 tho. LOL But it does like nice. Is your car 12 volt - ground ?
Well keep on posting.

I would first clean up the engine compartment. Detail the motor, etc. If you want to change the interior use the same darker gray as the outside of the car on the garnish and the dash..

Yes I converted it to 12- quite a while ago. Yea, I know the engines filthy, before I changed the radiator and water pumps I had a few boilovers and haven't cleaned it up yet. Plus, as I stated, it's my daily so it does get dirty. The dash is a Dakota Digital unit which works REALLY well. The only reason I changed out the stock guages is because they were all broken, the needles were broke and the faces all needed a full restoration and I like look of the digital. Plus people see it glowing at night and get surprised. The wood on the dash wouldn't be so bad if it was done correctly but it's not, its rough and runny and just looks bad, I'll try to post some more detailed pics so u can really see it.

Welcome kaonix. i've got a 48 club coupe and before that i owned an early 47 business cpe (46 grill). All New Zealand assembled 46/68 v8s carried RH drive versions of your 41 dash. We didn't get wood grain. I had a micro metallic silver dash on the 47 with grey plastic trim. Those cars here that utilized tan interiors had metallic tan/gold ( bit like Mustang antique Bronze 66 colour) . Something like that might look good on your dash if you wish to ditch the wood grain.

Wow, that's funny cuz I was actually thinking of a muted silver/grey on the dash. Any chance u might be able to find a picture? I'd love to see how it looks.

I really appreciate everyone's opinions good and bad. I realize some may not like the modern touches I've added but that's the good thing about this hobby! You can express urself only being limited by ur imagination, skill, and wallet! Lol

Here's a couple more shots. I wanted to ask ur guys expertise, if u look closely at the back of the hood you'll see it doesn't sit quite right however I can't find any way to adjust it. Am I missing something? How can I get it to back up and lay down correctly?
