My 1st new wheel

Assembled my first rebuilt T wheel today. Kind of difficult until you figure out how to do it. I ended up using a homemade sleeve puller we made years ago and the picnic table to pull the spokes into place. Kind of an irritating process until you figure out how to do it. I probably did not do everything correctly but it is together. One more to go for this project.

Pete - The first thing I noticed in your pictures was a very big hammer. I hope you didn't have to use it in your assembly process. I recently submitted an articlr, complete with pictures, to the Model T Times for possible publication about respoking wood wheels with metal felloes. After almost a year of research I have developed an extremely easy and simple method of respoking Model T wheels. The process takes about 15 minutes to assemble a wheel ready for drillin the flange bolt holes. (And a big hammer is not involved.)

If you are interested I can send you a copy of my submission. Contact me by e-mail at martindr@comcast.net.

David,
I did not use a hammer of any size when assembling this wheel. It happened to be there cause I used it earlier on something else. I knew I should have moved it and taken another picture.:D

I just assembled the second one this morning, it went real well.

I would like to see your article, I am sure I could use some tips for the next time I do a set.

If you wouldn't mind, I would like to read your article as well. My spokes were so stained that I painted them rather than strip and bleach and then start all over again. I figure I'll be replacing them before to long.
thanks, Mike

Pete,Did you make your own spokes or buy them.

My Father and I were discssing respoking mine and he thinks we can build them.He is smarter than me but I dont know what way I am going to go.
