Muslin Lining?

I just received a Cartouche Closed Car Roof Kit. Muslin lining was enclosed with the kit and was checked off on the first page of instructions. Maybe I am blind, but I read and reread the instructions, and they never mention the muslin lining again! The instructions describe installing the chicken wire, then describe tacking the padding (foam padding was included in the kit) and finally attaching the top material. The instructions are completely silent about the muslin. So where does the muslin go? Does it go between the wire and the padding? Does it go between the padding and the top material? Do I make a shirt out of it? I've never done a top before so please help!

I think the muslin goes on top of the chicken wire if you're using cotton padding to keep the cotton from coming through the wire. Cotton is original. If you're using foam, you may not need the muslin, but it wouldn't hurt anything. I see a lot of cars that are overpadded. Don't use too much.

Ditto what Glenn said about OVERPADDED. Personally I'd throw the foam away and use cotton. Foam breaks down with heat and age.
