Multi-disc to 39 transmission

I'm getting ready to swap out my early 28 multi-disc transmission to a 39 transmission.

Can someone help me with a list of the parts I need around the U-joint? I already have the bell housing adaptor/pedal mount/ebrake mount kit from the usual vendors

Apparently I can't use the Model A bearing retainer
The Model A part has 4 bolts and the V8 6
The 42/28 one in Macs doesn't look right either

I see in the Model A picture a bearing retainer, inner U-joint cover, and top and bottom outer U joint cover.

Early multi-disc bearing retainer and outer top/bottom U joint covers seem to be 3 pieces rather than the later 4 pieces:

Should be able to just swap the clamshell on the torque tube. You also need a bell housing adaptor.

Hmm, the bearing retainer on the 39 transmission has 6 bolts and the model a bearing retainer has 4 bolts.

Yes. Leave the 4 bolt bearing retainer on the model A Trans and remove the model A transmission from the car, 4 bolt bearing retainer and all. Then bolt the A&L aluminum bellhousing adaptor and then put the 39 transmission with the 6 bolt bearing retainer on it into the car. The motor mount feet on the 6 bolt 39 trans bearing retainer will just free hang since the model A engine is supported at the bellhousing to the frame.

So I use the V8 6 bolt bearing retainer and the Model A inner/outer U joint covers?

You need the u-joint cover from a later Ford as they only have four
bolts and the Model A has six bolts.

Unless I missed some thing, MRTEXAS has an E-28 with a 3 piece brake system, he
needs to hang his brake stuff somewhere. Sir is this correct?

Here is the 1939 trans in my Cabriolet. You also need the pedal adapter that mounts to the bell housing and shift tower, but you never asked about that portion, so I was assuming you already knew that.

I used to have the E28 brake system(designed by Rube Goldberg) until I put hydraulic brakes on. I found a guy to sell me the 4 pieces bearing retainer, inner cover, and top/bottom clamshell from a 40 Ford about an hour after I posted WTB on the EV8 want ads.

Yup, I bought the complete conversion kit including the bell housing adapter and the 3 other adapters required. Thanks for the pictures and responses.
