Mufflers

I dig my 22" Smithys. Nice rumble, quiet inside the cab, in my part of the world the law is kinda insistent on having mufflers.

I think this topic came up before. But I'll repeat. Cast iron black pipes, 1-1/4", front-to-back fitted together with assorted elbows, unions & never-seez. No mufflers, baffles or other needless constrictions other than the pipe id itself. Sounds pretty good & mellow to me. Also use a similar 1-1/2" black pipe setup on an SBC with equally pleasing sounds...to me anyway. 8^)

Hey Jack great idea, build your own. None of the dual systems fit anyway with out a lot of cutting and rewelding. Kind of a heavy exhaust system though [weight wise] lol ken ct.

As a youngster straight pipes on a flathead caused me nothing but grief, neighbors calling the cops when I would get on it. Nowdays Brockman glasspacks give me the sound I like on a flathead. The more motor you have the louder they are.
