A fun morning finishing up a few loose ends before Jeff installs the engine. Last week he installed the rebuilt transmission.

Here is a picture of his 41 four banger.

GREAT pics thanks for sharing! 33-34 Fords are rare in original appearances. Too bad so many were chopped up.

John & Jeff, Nice pictures of the trucks!! However....I was expecting to see a huge pile of empty Schlitz beer bottles right next to that sweet looking rebuilt flathead engine. :D

Friends HELPING Friends,
Thats what is all about. :) :)

You are right on the money with that Bill. Friends helping friends work on their Flathead V8 Ford is a good thing and usually lots of fun for everyone. :) Like Vic's now famous "Cigar City Flathead Team", it now looks as though we have the "Jeff and John Team", possibly now known as the "St. Pete Schlitzers".
Now next week here in Maryland we will have the what's known as the "Henry (aka Reds), Jeff and John" team banding together in Hereford, MD to remove the complete rear in a '36 Phaeton to make way for its completely new rebuilt rear with either 3.78 or 3.54 gears. Our team may begin to use a name like...."the Horrendous Horrocks Boy's of Hereford" team. I'm sure our team photographer and story writer Jeff, will post lots of good pictures here of this 'Horrific' team in action. :D:

That 41 with the tractor engine is a rear site. I've only seen one in real life. How does it go down the road? I believe thay had 4:55 rear gears. Do they have any power when thay smell a hill? Will it cruise the pike say at 55mph? I could have bought one of those engine a few yr's ago, it was in a power unit with a radiator and a trans. I don't know what it was used for. I almost thought I wanted restore it but it was in pretty poor shape and I didn't have a use for it. I've built many many of those 8n 9n engines. Walt

I missed out, what happened to Amos? Lil' Red would have sent a get well card! Hope he's back on the road soon.

Spring 2011, lost 2nd gear. Amos sat waiting patiently waiting for an influx of time or money. No money arrived. Time arrived over Thanksgiving. Pulled motor mostly just the Moose's (note Nurse Ratchett) with a little help from middle son in town from San Diego.

Jeff, Now we understand the whole story. Thanks for posting the additional pictures. Keep us posted on how things turn out after you get everything back together and take Amos for that first spin around the block :)

Walt...regarding the '41...it surely doesn't like hills (40 hp). I can get it up to nearly 60 on a straightaway but at that speed it's turning over pretty fast. Speedo reads max 60 mph. Just turned over 50,000 miles. I mostly just putter around town with it, but do drive it every weekend to church and store, brush site, etc.

Cleaning up motor, new gaskets on inlets and block off plates ('37 bearing motor w/ '34 everthing else), and my helper yesterday Clark Gable (John Munro oldford1)

Jeff, looks like you and John had everything under control... Just don't let John get behind you with a camera while you're bending over the front fender... LOL. Vic
