MP brakes

First, I do not wish to hurt or offend anyone, only to pass on to the readers an experience I have had with MP brakes out of North Carolina. I was looking for a master cylinder conversion kit for my '51 convertible and most companies advertised either some welding required or no application available. I happened upon the MP brakes website which showed a kit that "bolts in to existing holes in the frame and requires no extra drilling". That sounded perfect so I ordered it. When I received it and opened the installation instructions, it required drilling 8 holes in the frame, 4 of which needed to be 1 inch in diameter. I did not want to compromise the frame integrity to that extent so I immediately returned the kit for refund. After several phone calls (another story), I was credited for the kit price but not for the shipping it cost to get it to me and the shipping for the return. Bottom line is, it cost me $70 to find out the kit was not as advertised. I'm afraid I have no other recourse but maybe my experience will help someone else.

Yep, I looked at their site and it says "bolt on with no additional drilling". The kit says for for '51 Ford Custom, I wonder if the convertible frame is where the rub comes in. Maybe you told them it is a convertible. They offer to email installation instructions before purchase.

I've never had an experience with these people, don't know all the facts I'm sure, and not trying to place blame anywhere.

......and, you can even keep your own doctor if you like....PERIOD! Only a handful of honest advertisers left on the planet any more. DD

I used one of their kits on my 47, it fit horribly. The template they supplied did not fit the bolt holes on the bracket. I had to make many modification in order to make it work. The quality of the master cylinder is also subpar.
