That is a FAVORITE place for mice, just behind the visors.
That eyelet is crimped so removing it without destroying it is next to impossible.
Maybe you can loosen the headliner from above the windshield and remove the remains and put something in there to hopefully remove the smell. Good luck. 'Taint going to be easy though I can assure you.
I don't understand why you need to remove the eyelets. Unscrew the knob on the right in your picture and the headliner and eyelets will pull away from the wiper motor. On my '38 deluxe, the headliner is attached to a tack strip under the windshield garnish.
40cpe has it; the knob will unscrew

For others: it is pressed in but can be fanagled out. The cloth is attached to the wiper mounting bracket with contact cement. See attachment for part design.
You really want to get in there and get out all the stuff that mice leave. Wear a respirator and gloves and try to neutralize any mouse pee that you can see, it will corrode your sheetmetal. Try not to use an air hose, as that stuff should not be airborne.

Thank you at your convenience!
In our cabin we use bleach.
I am trying to stay away from bleach. I am afraid it will damage the head liner and it is a corrosive to metal.
Thanks!
