Motorcraft Spark Plug Wires

I have a set of Motorcraft Plug wires I want to use on my 54 Mercury. They have "Motorcraft" and "SIPCON" printed on them. Are these OK to use for the older y-block engines with stock distributor???? I was warned against using newer designed plug wires with the older distibutor systems.
ANYBODY HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS?? THANKS!
 
Those were not very long lasting plug wires. I replaced a lot of them. The new stuff available today will far outlast them. Buy a set from Speedway or Summit, but replace the grommets in the holders. Its not a fun job on a Y block, but with new grommets, they should last many years.
