Motorcraft SIPCON Plug wires

I have a set of NOS Motorctaft plug wires I want to use on my 1954 Mercury stock 256 Y-Block V8. They have the Motorcraft name and SIPCON printed on them. I don't know if they are designed for newer electronic ignoition systems or the older points/condenser/coil systems of the 50's cars. Are these OK to use with the stock points/coil ignition system. I was told the newer plug wires are not designed for old ignition systems. Not allowing max voltage to flow to the plugs and I should look for older solid core wires. Any thoughts or experience in this area???

I think the sipcon wires are the older ones. I sold dozens of sets of them back in the 70s - aren't they the ones with the carbon or graphite core as opposed to the solid core? My thought is that they should be okay for conventional ignition, as I think that's what they were designed for.
