Motor Swap

I've got a 1953 Customline and I'm considering doing a motor swap from the Inline 6 that it currently has to a Ford 289 with C4 ******. Would the motor mounts be located in the same place or would I have to fabricate some? it looks like the engine bay is big enough, but would there be any modifications I'd have to make?

You might make out better on a different forum. This forum is for fords 1932-53. Your are welcome here, just trying to help.

ANY engine swap to something the manufacturer never put in it is going to require some fabrication. This could mean engine and trans mounts, exhaust, linkage, wiring, fuel lines, cooling system changes, driveshaft, etc. Likely there are some kits that would aid in the swap you have in mind. Fairly common swap so you should be able to get some pointers from those who have done it.

Post your question over on the LATE FORD forum or do a search on it. I recall seeing several posts regarding SBF's in mid '50's

Brochman Mellow Tone (the muffler people) offers a kit to put in a small block ford into a 52-53 Ford. www.brockmancustomparts.com I don't know anything about it.
