Motor Mounts for 36 Ford with 24 stud 59A

I need to install new motor mounts in my 36 Ford Panel Delivery. It has a later 24 stud 59 AB engine. Do I order the newer motor mounts made for the engine or the 36 mounts for the frame ?
A little confused ! Flathill

I have regular engine mount biscuits under the 8BA and 59A that I have in my '36's. Get ones with long bolts because you may have to put spacers on top of the biscuits to align the lower radiator and engine water outlets.

I can't necessarily advise what may be best for you when putting a 59 engine in a panel delivery but I am putting a 59 engine with '37-'48 water pumps in a stock '35 pass. car/light commercial duty frame. I am using the stock rubber replacement donut motor mounts being sold by Drake/Carpenter for a '35 Ford. They fit the frame correctly and put the engine at a position that allows a nice lower hose fit between the water pump coolant inlets and the lower radiator hose outlets. Looks right....works well for me.

In my 35 with a 59A, I use the stock engine mounts, but there is a misalignment between the bottom hose connectors in rad to block. This is overcome by using 8BA bottom hoses which have an offset in them. Something I learnt off of Fordbarn, thankyou.

You can use stock 36 biskets with the base for them and under bisket and 49-50 Merc mounts. They will give you the proper up and down and off set. They are steel C shaped pieces.

Jim I don't think you need the "C" on 35-36 only on 33-34. G.M.

I agree with G.M. If I tried to use those Merc "C" spacers in my setup (59 engine in '35 sedan with '35 fan mount generator and stock '35 radiator) the cooling fan would be hitting/cutting into the bottom area of the top radiator tank. I could raise the front of my engine slightly by using some extra large flat washers between the rubber donuts and the integrally cast motor mounts on the '37-'48 water pumps.

I used stock m/mounts with a "C" shaped riser on my 34 with a 59, supposedly these type brackets were supplied by ford since there were so many engine swaps made back in the day from 21 to 24 stud. These brackets are supposed to set the 59 at correct alignment. On my 34 I still needed to use lower hoses with the crook in them. Ken
