Morris Oklahoma Model A Auction

Anyone have pictures of the stuff at the auction?

I spent the day at Menomonie, Wisconsin at the Studebaker car show and swap meet. Saw lot of nice Studes and found some nice parts I needed, including 2 NOS door handles and an NOS trunk handle.

We were going to go. Had to stay home. My mother had a stroke a couple days ago. I hope some people had some good luck.

As suggested in another post on this auction, the quantity of parts was going to simply be too much for the Model A enthusiasts to absorb. I suspect much of it will be new Hyundais. Although my hope is that many parts were saved, this is a case where hoarding was detrimental to the preservation of the hobby.

Lots of parts. Lots of buyers. No bargains. Cars sold well. Everything was sold for serious money proving once again that demand for Model A Fords is still very good.

Oh Wow!! I'm sure this is very stressful for y'all right now. Prayers & thoughts headed your way for her speedy recovery.

.

What was the age group of the Buyers? Mixed, or mostly older folks??

Speedster went for $11,500, 32 Firetruck $4250. 28 Firetruck $8700 and a fabulous Early 28 1and 1/2 ton went for $9000. As for ages of the buyers lots of younger folks but still more of older ones. Parts were going very reasonable, I didn't pay over $35.00 for anything I bought. Tons under $20.00. Lots of hard to find parts. One guy got a pair of Cabriolet irons for $25.00 with good chrome. I wanted to go for parts. I can find cars. But not many parts. I was hoping to get a few frames. And some front ends. I have a couple of roadster bodies that I need frames for.

Thanks for the prayers Brent. She is going to be ok. But nothing like this is good. Thank you

That's amazing, a true hoarder of everything, not just cars and not simply metal objects. The auction must have taken days, not hours.
I can visualize him saying "Let's see, I had that right over here".
