More what doe these fit…

Two more parts questions.

1) I think the running boards are T but not sure as I looked in the judging standards and didn’t see a good description. They are held down by four carriage type bolts. But I thought the A ones were solid with no bolt holes through them. AA I don’t know about but from what I read there were no through bolts in them.

2) the tail light bracket and license plate bracket appear to be either T truck or very early A truck. The bracket does say Duo Light but no Ford script that I could see. I am having a hard time matching the bracket up to the pics in the standards.

Am I correct about these items?

Thanks,

Mike

Re: More what doe these fit…

The tail light is the "drum" tail light used concurrently with the "type H" headlights in early Model A. I say concurrently, they lasted a bit beyond the formal change over to Twolite in March/April 1929. Ford had a tendency to "use up stocks" on items like the tail light.

Your sample is missing the light cover, lens, shield "STOP" and some of the internals. The cover is reproduced but the internal light sockets are the problem to find. The cover during production could be either steel/painted or brass/plated. Many of the brass covers are cracked due to vibration, but at least one crack at the lower thin band (white lens) seems intentional by Ford and allows production variant lens to be inserted in the cover.

Al Lepore (A&L Model A) reproduced a dandy Drum Tail Light in times leading up to Covid. And was a source of parts. But with the drop-off of the market or the passing of Al Lepore, they stopped and have not resumed.

Google AI:

A & L Parts Specialties is a renowned, pioneer manufacturer of high-quality, USA-made Ford Model A components. Founded in Connecticut by the late Al Lepore, the business is famous for producing authentic components like steering arm pivot balls, wind wing brackets, and other hardware. [1, 2]
While the original CT storefront has closed and operations have downsized to wholesale production, A&L components are continuously stocked by leading retailers in the Model A community.

Thanks for the info. I thought the running boards were T when I got them home. The tail light figured was early A or late T. Good to know it is early A. If someone can use it they can have it, if not then it goes to MAFFI. With a lot of other small
Parts.
