More Thanks - Cool Perch Fix Implemented

Hi all. Another "thank you" to all the contributors here, for my cool perch fix. In one of the many links, someone said that to fix an out of round shackle bore in a perch, put a carbon, graphite or copper rod in, weld it smaller, then remove the rod and grind the perch back into shape. I'm on a shoestring budget so I appreciate every low-cost suggestion! Here is my perch fix. The weld has reduced the diameter enough so that my bushing will have a press-fit again. I plan to fill the gap in the middle with JB weld to ensure a long bearing area.
The last pic shows my other un-fixed perch, and my fixed one.
Thanks again.

Marty

I did the exact same thing you did on a couple perch bolts that were worn on the ends. I used a carbide burr cutter to shape them back to original. I can't see why this would cause any problems as the main center area where the strength really lies is not changed. I used a copper water pipe, split it and then expanded it to fit the inside of the shackle hole. It is nice to save an original part when possible.
