I'm back to putting the Mike's Money Saver - Stainless/Leakless Pump Kit - Zinc part number M8591SSZ in because I have it. I will try to get the bearing in using the heat/cold method. But first I need to get the old sleeve out. How do I do it?

I finally figured it out. Behind the sleeve there is a bearing cup washer with felt. Place a long screwdrive thru the back side of the housing and you can pound the washer and sleeve out.

lol
you should keep on the same thread, would have saved my old fingers some rest.

I made the same comment on another one of his posts, but he doesn’t seem to be interested in posting related items on the same thread for continuity. Nor is he interested in saving your and my old fingers.

By not keeping everything in one thread I’m afraid a lot of good information is going to be separated and lost to future inquiries.

old ugly. California Travieso and Y-Blockhead. I tried to keep going in the same thread but it looked to me like the thread was getting hyjacked and headed in all kinds of different directions. I really appreciate the great information provided in this forum (especially you three and Joe K, JayJay, rotowrench and nKaminar, to name a few), I'm 81 (probably younger than a lot of you) and not as sharp as I used to be, so when the responses get too varied and not specifically answering my question, I get lost. In the future I will do as you say cause I definately don't want to piss anyone off. I thot I had everything figured out and was going to put Mike's repair kit into my good housing so I assembled everything and the shaft wouldn't turn so I am back to suggestions I asked in post #17 in my "Water Pump Question" post.
