Molasses rust removal

Bubba you are talking about the molasses that is put in tanks with a wheel that is licked by the cattle. Feed grade molasses does not have urea in it, I was in the feed business for twenty years and we used about 20 tons of molasses every two weeks. This came from National Molasses out of Baltimore. The other molasses came from a fertilizer company. If you get the liquid make sure it's the one they mix with dry feed ingredients.

Yes you are correct I am talking about the molasses in the lick and the tubs almost solid have urea. I guess I'm guilty of RUNNING my MOUTH about the dry as I have never seen any dry Sorry about thst. If the dry don't have any additives in then I can see no way it could cause any pitting as I have left stuff in for as much as a year no pitting even Rod and main bearings copper wire and washers brass shim stock come out just like they go in the only thing that find it is not friendly to is aluminum.
We had a feed store in the late 40s and some horse and mule and dairy feed had molasses in it but it was not dry.

freak
yes the first 15 gallons I got was free.

When the molasses finishes with all the rust, it will eat steel and iron. It is acid. i destroyed a Model A carb by trying too hard. It was all eaten up and scrap.

Just have the block cleaned the professional way, shake and bake and get a better result without risk and the hassle. That's my two cents. Every time this topic comes up I make the caution, but people don't listen. Yes, I used feed molasses, after being told plain molasses won't do anything. This is my last time addressing this issue.

Russ and others ...

Thanks for the warning ... !
