modern points and condensor

You are better off getting the A&L burn out proof condenser.

The new stuff is china sourced and may not be as good as you expect. Mustang guys have complained about the quality of them.

I don't have the good part numbers off hand. But both good and bad ones can be bought at NAPA. About all I can say now is that the good ones are the expensive ones, of course.

The CS755s have been in mine for at least 10 years.

Original points and condenser have never gone bad on any of my cars.

In 1965 and 1977 I replaced points with electronic on 2 cars, and each one failed after one week.

1965 is 52 years ago.

That is one quarter the age of our country.

NAPA/Echlin has 2 points styles available; CS751 - solid fixed contact and CS755 - vented fixed contact. The condenser is FA82.

I have been told when I inquired of a reliable wholesale source that the Echlin are technically made in USA because they are made at an Echlin plant in Puerto Rico. I mention this as a fact, not to criticize or approve.

A person on EBAY selling original Motorcraft for 22.50 shipped for 5 just put Motorcraft DP-3 in the search block, I have 4 As with 3 of them having the new style points, thought it was a good deal.
