I brought this horn home from my dad's house a while ago. Today i noticed what the box said and got a chuckle, I thought I would share.

Heh. 60s fun. We grow too soon old and too late shmart.

Hutchins was the maker on these. A staple at the Western Auto in our town.

I have three of them. Two 6v and one 12v. I think I paid $10 for the most expensive.

Usually found without a screen, I found that a sparton screen fits it just fine.

Heh. I checked the name Hutchins on Ebay and found several. Gosh, they can be a bit pricey - possibly as much as a Sparton horn - which I find hard to believe as the sparton is a whole quality level above a Hutchins horn.

They do look nice at that price level though.

Nice box to be so old. The box is going to add a lot to the horn price.

My 29 Tudor had one on it when I bought the car, but I sold it on ebay for more than my original Model A horn cost.

Actually the Hutchins horns are good motor driven horns. I really prefer them to the old original horns. The Hutchins horns adjust through the bell and are more diffiucult to adjust, you've gotta be good. They do sound good and loud. I know it doesn't sound exactly like original but I'm not that picky I sanded and painted mine black riveted on a Sparton name plate and screen. I use the oiriginal horn mount and screws and it looks good to me. I got my first one from JC Whitney in the seventies for $12.95 and it still works as good as ever. I've got em at swap meets and on eBay and paid 20-25 dollars most of the time I run a twelve volt one on the roadster.
