Model T step

Here is a picture of the step I built so my wife could get into the car easier. It's basically a parallel link system with a lever. I use a 1954 Lincoln power seat motor to drive it that has tons of torque and an over-ride at both ends of the stroke. I installed switches near the seat riser on both sides. Bruce

A lot of motor homes and camping trailers use these folding steps. You should be able to find a new or used one and adapt it easier than fabricating from scratch.

Possibly, but by the time I replaced the motorhome steel plate with an original section of a T running board and the 12 volt electronic control with a 6 volt drive, I had more fun designing my own mechanism. Ironically, a lot of people thought it might have been an original option. Cheers : Bruce
