Model T KEY Qusstion # 89 or #68

How did Ford stamp the key numbers? I have the original key from Grandpa's 1923 and would like to know if it is an 89 or 68? Once i know I can ask for an ignition switch with the proper number.

You'll have to search for that switch tumbler....the reproduction switchs all come with # 55.

Yes, your gramp's key is a #68 .

Ford keys are marked 51 thru 74.

THANKS! I thought is was so cool to find the key in a can of odds & ends when we cleaned out my Aunt's house. Aunt Betty is behind the wheel, Mom is the passenger and Aunt Helen is standing on the side. I took this photo of them with my 1912 in 1984.
