Model T in Winter

I gave an old friend of mine a ride in my Model A (1928 Tudor) today. He remembered that he had some pictures of his grandfather, who was a letter carrier in northern Michigan in the '20s and '30s, driving his Model T delivery van. I have attached the pictures here because I thought you all might be interested.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
wonder how he kept from freezing.......

Wonder if he got leg cramps from holding the low pedal down all day?

Mine had a reduction gear arrangement inboard of each rear drive wheel, sort of like the old VW vans. It gave a real low, low & a high that was fast enough for a snowmobile. It also increased the clearance under the rear axle for deep snow.

I have driven a blacksmith built snowmobile made from a 490 Chev & you never get out of second gear. It was successfully used for years by a rural telephone company back in the 1930s.
