Model T Bed. Can you use A bed subrails?

just picked up a 1930 model A truck, and just found out that it has a 26 model T bed. and i just bought bed subrails that mount between the bed and the frame, thinking i had a 28-31 A bed, but it looks like i will have to take that small riveted flange of the bed off to mount them? anyone have any experience?
 
Although they appear similar they are not interchangeable at all and are very different. If you are building a rod then you can probably make it work but for a restoration you will need to look for an A bed.
