hey everyone, this is my first post so i figured i would not waste any time! i am 25 and have a few interesting cars for a person my age! both were handed down to me, and i cherish them fully!

and my favorite! im told this is a 1917 speedster. i have tried to research it without much luck. i have yet to find anything like it. the car runs like a top, and keeps up with traffic on the busy streets in town (35-45) easily! has a 3 speed gearbox and shifts like glass. i recently tore the car down and i repainted the body due to paint flaws that you can see in the pics. i will soon have pics of it all back together in its new paint!

Very cool! It looks like you've got a garage full of fun things. I like how everyone's smiling too.

Your speedster reminds me of the saying, "you should fix your brakes so you don't need three horns!" :D

the horns make the car! i cant wait for the snow to melt so we can drive them again! these two are going to be the get-a-way vehicles for our wedding!

You must be a hell of a dancer operating the pedals with your feet and the horns with your hands, who's steering and shifting? :D

Oh, and welcome to Ford Barn...

haha, i am very good at multi-tasking! took a bit of getting used to, but i got all the controls down pretty good now. the horns are really simple haha, either pull a chain, pull a corn-cob, or push a button haha.

Nice cars, one for bad weather and one for those nice days.
Most speedsters are a mixture of parts with no real rules to go by. There were some speedster bodies available, but like I said, most are home built. The year of the engine can be established by the serial number stamped above the water outlet on the drivers side of the engine, but it may not match the rest of the parts???

all finished and painted!! still need to color sand and buff for the glass finish! took a couple pics at my works product demo show.

Any of the newer computerized graphic sign shops could take your photo of your "FORD" logo and make you some stencils.

Update!!!

I refinished the wheels on the 1917!! I also got married and we used it as a get away vehicle!!

And as a wedding gift from my step-fathers sister, we got a 1931 model-a truck!! It was there fathers, and is mostly complete! Needs a little tlc, which I like most! Time to get to work!
